3. Golden Opulence Sundae – $1.000
in 2007, New York’s Serendipity 3 restaurant was celebrating its 50th anniversary & thought to create something special to appreciate the moment.
& for a restaurant that used to be frequented by Marilyn Monroe & Jackie Kennedy, it had to be something lavish.
so, they created a $1000 sundae that was listed as the Guinness Book of World Records’ most expensive dessert. they broke their own record a year later, but we didn’t got there already.
the question that everyone wants to ask is what could possibly make that sundae so special? well, is the world’s most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porcelana & rarest Venezuelan Chuao chocolate enough for you?
probably not. but what about 24-karat edible gold, gold dragnets & dessert caviar topping?
yes, this dessert has all that, plus, almonds coated in gold & candied fruit from Paris soaked for many months that cost $100 per pound, are sprinkled upon the delicious frozen vanilla cream.
anyone can try it, but if you want to order it, make sure you call with two days in advance because that’s the time it takes to be made.

serendipity 3 restaurant didn’t stop here. they actually created something that broke their own record when they made another luxurious ice cream dessert that sells for $25.000.
what could possibly be more than the Golden Opulence Sundae. well, this one also uses very rare & pricey chocolate like a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive & exotic from around the globe.
it is infused with 5 grams of edible 23-karat gold & served in a goblet lined with edible gold. at the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds.
impressive enough? maybe, but that’s not all. I saved the best for last. when you order this amazing dessert, you get to eat it with a gold spoon decorated with white & chocolate-colored diamonds. that spoon is yours if you want to take it home.
this amazing product is the result of the collaboration between Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3 & luxury jeweler Euphoria New York.

1. The Absurdity Sundae – $60.000
coming from the Three Twins Ice Cream founder, this is the most expensive ice cream in the world!
well, actually they call it the world’s most expensive ice cream sundae. it may sound funny, but you will see why.
in order to get this dessert, the founder of the Three Twins Ice Cream will accompany you to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, where your ice cream will be prepared using the glacial ice found at the summit. all that while you enjoy the view from Africa’s tallest peak.
when you pay the $60.000 for your dessert, you also get a first class ticket to Tanzania, a stay at a five-star hotel, a climb with a tour guide & a t-shirt for a souvenir.
the meaningful reason behind this extremely expensive dessert is raising awareness of the fact that the mountain’s glaciers are predicted to disappear within the next 10-15 years due to climate change.
so, you will get to enjoy your ice cream & make a five-figure contribution to an African environmental non-profit. I believe is actually a very creative way of catching people’s attention.

if they were all in front of you right now, which one would you taste first?
