amazing abandoned places around the world – part 1

I get a lot of messages asking for amazing destinations that one needs to see in this life, that’s why I decided to make a 3 part article featuring some of the most amazing abandoned places around the world!

although there are a lot more amazing places to soon be featured, these have something special, they are seen as the underdog & although they have been abandoned most of them offer a view you will never get to see anywhere else in the world!

pay attention, grab a paper & a pen, write down your favorites because it would be a shame if you didn’t get to visit at least o few of them in this lifetime!

it was supposed to be China’s response to DisneyLand but due to many misunderstandings between land owners & investors, add to that a huge dose of corruption, the project was put on hold & what is left is just a Ghost town in the outskirts of Beijing.

what was once a very busy city is one of the most amazing ghost towns in the world! most of them worked for the  Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, but everything changed on 26 April 1986 when an explosion within the plant had radiation started leaking from its nuclear reactor.

this Victorian home was build back in 1888. the amazing thing that it wasn’t this small in the beggining. back on the island there were many similar houses but the erosion took one by one out until people finally decided to save the last one.

constructed in 1981 & purchased in 2005 John Tosto this retro-futuristic igloo like home has been the reason of many disputes since it was bought and due to bureaucracy it’s still not been restored. the weird looking house has become a tourist attraction mostly because it just doesn’t fit with it’s environment.

what was once an active Benedictine monastery is now just a relic reminding people of the architecture back in 1800s. the place even has a few stories connected to it & it has become a place of great interest for anyone passing through the area!
