this is the final article of our 3 part amazing abandoned places around the world series.
we were on the lookout for out of the ordinary travel destination for those of you that want more then the commercial places.
that’s how we came up with these locations all across the globe that once served a purpose for the region in which you find them but now they are relics.
even as relics they have amazing stories behind each of them and most are way more amazing than standing in line or buying tickets to just to say you’ve been there. these have character and will clearly be a conversation starter at some point.

Nara Dreamland in Japan
build in 1961 it was also supposed to be the equivalent of Disneyland in Japan, they were unable to make it profitable and with the economic condition is dried itself out. the fun thing is it still has all it’s roller-coaster rides up & standing.
Tunnel of Love in Ukraine
this is one of the most seeked places by lovers world wide. you can find it in Klevan and in the early summer days when the trees are in full green it’s a must sense experience.
one of the trees grows from the top of a chimney of an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Asuncion, Paraguay.
El Hotel del Salto in Colombia
I know it looks as spooky as it gets but this incredible place was up until 1990s one of the main attractions of the area. it features an amazing waterfall just next to it. many curious visit it due to the rumors that it might be haunted.
Abandoned Blade Mill, France
there are abandoned mills all across the world, this one is clearly top 10 when it comes to its beauty!
North Brother Island near New York City, New York
Typhoid Mary, was the first person in the United States to be identified as being infected with typhoid fever, she was isolated here and with her the entire hospital.
Lawndale Theater in Chicago
opened in 1927, during it’s prime years has been a cultural center of the area up until 1963. it hosted a burlesque show, movies & even a church at some point.
Abandoned city of Keelung, Taiwan
although it once hosted many very active citizens it was left behind & nature started taking back what was rightfully its. back in 2012 it was finally demolished in order to build a new neighborhood of luxury villas.
House of the Bulgarian Communist Party
the giant concrete saucer is just one of a long list of abandoned & forgotten communist monuments scattered across Bulgaria.
