Colonial Mansion McDonald’s Hyde Park – Long Island, New York
this specific restaurant in Long Island, New York is situated in a 100 year old georgian mansion in New Hyde Park.
it has a very interesting history because before the restaurant, the building was a farmhouse until the year 1860.After that it was converted into a georgian-style house, that was used for a series of different attributes.
for example it first was a private residence after the world war I, a funeral home, a series of different restaurants.
in 1987 the people of the town secured the landmark status for the building & the McDonald’s company was forced to restore the entire property & its ornaments.
so the company created one of the coolest McDonald’s restaurant in the world with the help of New Hyde Park townsmen.
this impressive building was built as a farmhouse by Joseph Denton & it has been since known as The Denton House.
until the 1980s, when McDonald’s purchased the property.
but their plans to destroy it & built a new store failed. the building was considered a historical landmark, so McDonald’s had to use it exactly in this form.

this is nothing out of the ordinary for the area, the unique historic building blending in with the surroundings.
but when the building is the former Town Hall & inside you can see the high roof with exposed beams and galleries, & outside the impressive 19th century facade with all the specifics of the era, you are going to say “wow“.

McDonald’s Imperial – Porto, Portugal
you have to admit, it’s quite awesome! this McDonald’s is placed in a historic building dating to 1930, the restaurant as we see it, is from 1995 after the desire to restore Aliados Avenue, an iconic street in Porto.
before the McDonald’s, the place was called Imperial Cafe, due to the eagle placed on the facade.
its interior is full of art deco stained glass windows, chandeliers & other decorations that provide the air of the social life of the 1930s.
the restaurant has a few unique menu items, but most part of the food is just as you’d expected from a McDonald’s. so I was telling you the food it’s like in every McDonald’s joint out there, having a normal snack menu & adding to it specialties like the “McCaffe” a genuine coffee shop.

placed in Chinatown, New York, the place is the skinniest restaurant on the block built in the same way as the rest of the Canal Street business area.
it stands out in the day for the fact that the entire building is black & made entirely out of a metal structure, but at night if you don’t pay attention you can miss it very easily.
called even McDonald’s of Mordor, The Black McDonald’s or Skinny McDee this restaurant stand’s out in every way & tell’s the passer-by that he could go in & see how the coffee tastes here.

McDonald’s Drive Thru – Ulsan, South Korea

located in Ulsa, South Korea, this McDonald’s sure is a dream come true for those who travel a lot.
yes, this is an unique location & a strange McDonald’s.
why? well, for starters, it doesn’t use the typical red & yellow color scheme, as you can see in the image.
instead, they prefer bright pink & neons.
second, at the time this restaurant was built, it was very unique to the usual architecture of Ulsan. the structure seems like a butterfly, a moth to be more specific. not quite the McDonald’s we know. known as a McDonald’s drive-thru this is a unique restaurant where you can pick your food while driving inside a gas station.
the place was discovered in 2010 & has a special feature.
on top of the Ulsan restaurant is a huge wing covering the entire restaurant & gas station.
the eye-candy structure can be recognized trough the colorful theme & can stand out from a certain distance looking like a purple firefly just landed on the ground.

McDonald’s by the Spanish Steps – Rome, Italy

the place was been dubbed ‘the fanciest McDonald’s in the world’. the first McDonald’s opened in Italy in 1986.

& now, we have this luxurious one, considered the largest restaurant of this type when made.
at the time, almost 435 people could have been seated at a time. today, more than 800.
it has a small entrance, a hallway with marble walls & a couple of stairs before entering the actual restaurant. inside the difference is made by the gelato bar & the “coffee & sweets” bar & the modern outtake of the furniture combined with several specific architectural roman designs. sure looks fancy to us.
