richest royals in the world | TOP 10

have you even wondered who are the richest royals in the world?

there are currently 44 sovereign nations in the world that have monarch acting as heads of state.

monarchy if you didn’t know was the most common form of government until the 19th century, but it is no longer prevalent.

now is a constitutional monarchy, in which the monarch retains a unique legal & ceremonial role, but has limited or no political power whatsoever.

for example, the monarch of Cambodia, Japan & Malaysia, reign but do not rule. the monarch of Brunei, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia & Swaziland however, can exercise more political influence than any other single source of authority in their nations.

all of them live in castles & are the heirs of big empires. with all the fortune comes a great responsibility – the responsibility to keep & why not grow that fortune.

they can’t make bad decisions regarding the fortune (takeEike Batista’s example); these royals can’t afford to lose it all.

the monarchs from our top, are the richest from all the 44 sovereign nations, let’s see how rich!

10. Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said of Oman – $700 million

he is one of the good guys & people love him. like he is open towards the idea of parliamentary elections where women can vote & run for office.

Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said is an absolute monarch of Oman but that might change in the future. with his success in making Oman a neutral state capable of working with both United States & Iran, he is on the right track through people’s heart.

he’s been given the Peace Award by the Nation Council on US-Arab Relations. since he started reign Oman, has broadened international relations, establishes high schools & even built several highways. we would like a sultan like him in every country!

Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said of Oman cares about his people & spends a significant portion of oil revenue in health care & education for his country.

9. Prince Albert II of Monaco – $1 billion

his royalty is inherited from his parents, Grace Kelly & Prince Rainier III, former prince of Monaco. he became the head of Grimaldi in 2005 after his father died.

Prince Albert II is not like others married men, he is known for his playboy reputation despite the fact that he is married since 2011 with Charlene Wittstock & has two children with her.

being one of the richest royals has his benefits. his assets include real estate both in Monaco & France, some art pieces, & an expensive collection of antique cars, a valuable stamp collection & a stake in the Monte Carlo Casino.

known for being a car enthusiast he owns several great vehicles including a BMW Hydrogen 7, plus he owns a 40-passager leisure jet & several personal homes.

after you did the math, you saw that his place on the richest royals top is well deserved due his net worth of $1 billion.

8. King Mohammed VI of Morocco – $2.5 billion

the current king of Morocco, since 1999 when his father King Hassan II died & he had to became the head of the state.

other than being the king of Morocco, he is one of the best businessmen in the country, a banker, an agricultural producer & land owner.

he is part of one of the richest families with the largest fortunes in the world, & almost $1 million a day is needed in order to maintain his houses including personnel, clothes & car repairs.

living in wealthy doesn’t stop him for being championed as a defender of the poor & he has made a public promise to take on poverty & corruption.

do you think he can do it?

7. Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein – $3.5 billion

one of the richest royals in the world is also the richest European monarch & one of the wealthiest heads of state in the world.

the Prince of Liechtenstein has board powers, almost exclusive ruling power.

legally he is still the Head of the State, but since 2004 he has allowed his son to do most of the day-to-day governmental decisions as a way of beginning a dynastic transition to a new generation.

do you think he made the right decision making his son taking the partial control of the state?

his wealth includes LGT banking group & he has an extensive art collection which is displayed at the Liechtenstein Museum.

6. Prince Azim of Brunei – $5 billion

another well-known playboy, the Prince Azim of Brunei is the third in line for the Brunei throne.

he is best known for his exclusive celebrity-filled parties, including the one from 2009 when famous names joined him to party.

Mariah Carey, Sophia Loren & Janet Jackson were some of the celebrities present at the “Party of the Year”.

but beside his partying side, Price Azim is also a philanthropist, supporting events like Sounds of Hope & charities like Make a Wish.

I don’t know if is accurate, but the Prince reminds me of Dan Bilzerian and his eccentric way to party. don’t you think so?

5. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan – $15 billion

no, he is not related with the singer Wiz Khalifa. he is a hereditary ruler of Abu Dhabi & President of the United Aran Emirates makes him one of the richest royals in the world.

while he does control 97.8 billion barrels of oil reserves, not all of his wealth comes from natural resources. he also runs a sovereign wealth fund with assets of about $627 billion.

when we are referring at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan we talk about millions of dollars in assets & expensive assets.

he has a 30-acre estate in the Seychelles where he also sent over $130 million in aid for social service, military aid & more.

he’s also spent a large amount of his money on philanthropic endeavors, including founding the Khalifa Award for Education among others.

4. King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz – $17 billion

the king of one of the richest countries in the world, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz is also the chief of one of the largest crude oil deposits.

every country has its ups and downs, but Saudi Arabia was lucky to have their king when the country was in global recession & struggled with unemployment.

what this King did is magnificent. He led Saudi Arabia through the global recession & even pushed through $130 billion in unemployment packages & housing programs.

but his time as a King might be over soon, because he is 90 years old, £ with no heir to take over the throne when he will die, his 76-year old brother Prince Salman will take his place.

3. Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah – $20 billion

the Sultan of Brunei is not only a Sultan but also the Prime Minister which gives him complete control over the country.

what’s your hobby? everyone has to have one, right? but I’m sure yours isn’t that extravagant as his. he collects cars, but only the most expensive cars in the world.

he had anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000 cars including 600 Rolls Royce alone. how come anyone manage to put together such a big collection?

like the others monarchs in our top, this one draws much of his wealth from the country’s oil supply, which its reserves could run out in just 25 years from now.

2. Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Alsaud of Saudi Arabia – $21.4 billion

due to his wise decisions he made when invested in something, have led to his enormous, almost incomprehensible level of wealth.

he is that rich that could even buy your entire country!

considered one of the biggest investors in the world, Alwaleed bin Talal is King Abdullah’s nephew.

at this point the political power he has is insignificant regarding his wealth. he lives a publicly & extravagantly life of luxury with castles & even an Airbus A380 decked out with a concert hall & 20 suites.

the perfect example to follow if you are into investments, because he did it great! just take a look at his net worth- $21.4 BILLION!

1. King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand – $30 billion

& the richest royal in the world is King Bhumibol Adulyadej ofThailand!

the longest monarch in Thailand’s history, ruling over 68 years and still counting!

a big part of his fortune comes from his business interests in real estate & investments in companies like Siam Cement & Siam Commercial bank.

is estimated that the Thai palace spends about $500 million a year, which is ten times what Britain’s royal family spends.

he also owns the Golden Jubilee Diamond, the largest faceted diamond in the world, estimated to be worth anywhere between $4 million & $12 million.

don’t say anything bad about him because an added perk is that Bhumibol is inviolable; meaning any offense against his dignity is legally punishable.
